Establish Off Peak Personal Training Rates as a New Client Incentive

Establish Off Peak Rates as a Client Incentive

One of the things that a successful NY Personal Trainer learns early on is the way to manage your schedule is to create incentives for clients choosing off peak times. This is often done by offering a discounted rate from the normal hours that everyone tends to want for their training session. An added bonus is that with off peak rates you are going to be expanding your potential prospects. There are many people who would love to have a NYC Personal Trainer, but the regular rates and hours keep them away. If you handle the promotion of this incentive correctly, you can really fill out your schedule.

What are on and off peak times?

The peak months run from January through June. This is when everyone is getting ready for warmer weather and wants to be “body beautiful.” January through February cover the New Year’s resolution months, and this is when people flock to gyms, but they don’t last. Peak times are going to be early evening and Saturday mornings. This is when most people have convenient time available to train. The key word is “convenient.” These same people who work 9 to 5 and want a 530 training session can be moved to a 630am session or even a noon session with the right incentive.

Running sports seasonal specials

Another off peak rate special you can run is related to seasonal sports .During your off peak months NYC personal trainers can advertise specials that target upcoming sporting seasons. For instance, you can get the cyclists in the gym from November through February. That may mean you give up some of the resolution business, but those people are only good for two months anyway. Other sports to consider are the fall and winter sports. Bringing those people in from July through September can fill out the slow season for personal training if you have specific programs to help prepare them for skiing, running and climbing at discounted rates for off peak time appointments.

Getting the word out to clients and prospects

Before you announce your incentives you have to decide whether your goal is to get people in during the off peak hours, or to get clients for the off peak season. NY personal trainers can combine the two, but it is better to have incentives that address both needs individually. Once you have your incentives created, start using social media, hanging fliers and telling your client’s about the incentives.
