I had just started training for the I Am A Juggernaut Contest Arnold Portion. The grand prize was a 4 page interview in Ironman magazine, I had a story to tell about how I had transformed myself, on September of last year I had cochlear implant surgery to restore my hearing. I only have 7 % hearing left. So I wanted that grand prize. My marriage had been deteriorating for some time, it was a Friday night and I couldn’t take it anymore. I did the hardest thing I could do, leave my home and not live with my wife and daughter. Having to move back to my parents home I wondered how I could compete with these people that had full access to a gym and where younger than me. I took stock of what I had available: a pull-up bar, jump rope, pairs of kettlebells in size 35, 53 and 70. I wanted something to replicate a barbell but had very little funds. I looked through Youtube hoping to find something to help and inspire me. I ran into Ross Enamaits video on how to make a sandbag. The next day I got two military duffel bags and 4 bags of rubber mulch for $10, my total cost was $50. Having heard to start light, I made a 60lb and an 80lb bag, by the end of summer I was using 80lb and 100lb. I now had the tools I needed. I started to train hard as I was heavily into trying to improve my conditioning while building muscle. I also had a diet plan and supplement plan through the challenge. I made some very good gains in those 12 weeks. But as I waited for results I kept training harder and harder trying to create workouts . I started getting some followers. The challenge ended the results were in . I won Jr. Juggernaut not happy with my placing I continued working to get better and to improve. In that time I built strength, flexibility, metabolic conditioning and carved myself into a strong physique while greatly improving my athletic performance. This one year program has come to life in my e-book Building A Power Athlete.
