How to trick your brain and treat yourself well.
Around the Holidays it is difficult to avoid delicious meals as humans at the most basic level are animals – but we are also intelligent. Humans have ability to THINK. You can to trick your brain and treat yourself into a healthier and happier you!.
Holiday meals tend to contain high sugar, heavy fat, bad cholesterol, and an excess of calories.
Here are some ideas for Trick and Treat!
1. Trick your brain that your stomach is full- drink lots of still or sparkling water before you go (and during) parties.
2. Utilize portion control discipline.
3. Socialize at parties the more time you spend speaking the less time you have for eating and drinking.
4. Minimize alcohol consumption which impairs your ability to make healthy decisions.
5. Schedule outdoor or fitness activities. Once you have spent the time and/or money you don’t want to waste that investment.
6. Instead of indulging in sweets – take a massage, yoga, or a bubble bath. Plan some physical activity with your partner (you will burn extra calories!)
Lastly, don’t forget to wear form flattering outfits to show off your heard work and further incentivize you to maintain your shape, weight, and health!
